Upper Stillwater Dam

Earlier this week, the Upper Stillwater Dam started to spill over. I haven't been up for several years to see it, so I was determined to go this year.

Between the wind and Vince being a goof, it was hard to get a good picture.

Seriously, the wind was horrid!

While we were up there, we decided to hike a trail. It was actually the same one I got lost on last fall, but we started at the other end.

I loved all the wild flowers that were starting to bloom. They were everywhere.

We also saw a few moths and butterflies. Vince was able to catch one for a picture.

They are hard to see, but in the next two pictures, there are two butterflies. I kept hoping they would land for a close up picture, but they never did.

After our hike, we drove to the top of the dam. I can't believe how full it was compared to a few weeks ago.

Valex's 7th Birthday

When I asked Vanessa what I should get Valex for his birthday, she suggested a water gun. I found this set, hoping he would share with his brother. He is also really into the fidget spinners, so when I saw the batman one, I had to get it for him.

He LOVED his cake. Vanessa had shown him a picture of it earlier and he said the fur looked awesome.

He loved it!

I love this age, where you tell them to smile, and they smile so big it almost looks painful.

My dad and Susan gave them some BB shots when they first got there. But then they said, oops, we bought the wrong thing. We thought they were mini marbles. After cake and ice cream, they gave them the rest of their gift.

They were pretty excited to get their own BB guns. Hopefully nobody shoots and eye out.

Vanessa's cat playing in the wrapping paper.

I've been looking back at pictures of this guy. I can't believe he is already 7! I feel like the luckiest aunt in the world to be blessed with such amazing nephews. They are my joy and happiness.
