May's Pregnancy Pictures

Its taken us a few months, but we finally have a name for baby girl. Her name will be Arianna KayLynn Sanchez. Arianna means holy, but we will also call her Ari, which means lioness of God. Her middle name is a combination of both our mother's middle names. My mom's is Kaye and Vince's mom's is Evelyn, so KayLynn.

On a happy note, Vince moved back home this month. His time helping at the men's home turned out to be a 3 month service mission. We had hoped it would work into something long term, but with the baby getting close, we decided it was best to be together again.

Blue has always been clingy, but I swear he has gotten worse. I think he is going to have a hard time not being momma's baby anymore.

I wasn't supposed to have an ultrasound at my appointment this time, but we wanted to check one more time that it was still a girl before we start buying stuff for the nursery. The doctor was kind enough to do another ultrasound and even gave me a picture of her face. It's still a girl.

Christmas

On Christmas morning, we woke up ready to open presents. You'll quickly notice Vince had an orange and blue Broncos Christmas.

By Christmas, we had so many presents under the tree, the cats couldn't get under there anymore.

As soon as there was enough presents out of the way, Blue was back under the tree.

One of the traditions Vince started was to get a Christmas ornament for the year. I am so in love with how much he loves Christmas.

We were both spoiled, so it took a while to open all our gifts.

I didn't get a picture of all our gifts until later that night. By then, this license plate cover was already on the car, so its missing from the picture.

That first present that was under the tree right after Thanksgiving was a robot vacuum.

We charged it that night and tried it out the next day. The cats weren't sure what to think about it. The concept is great, but it didn't work very well. After reading several reviews, we decided my carpet is too thick and too high for it to work effectively, so we ended up sending it back. But it was fun to watch the cats watch it when it was running. If I ever move to a place with low carpet, or wood floors, I will probably get one again.

Percy seemed fascinated with Christmas, mostly because he wanted to chew on everything.

Literally, he chewed on everything. Every time I looked down, he was right there chewing on any gift that was still in its plastic packaging.

Vince got the cats a few toys.

I decided to order them some new catnip filled carrots. I had gotten some a few years ago, but they finally destroyed them earlier this year. This time, I made sure to get one for each cat.

The biggest gift I got for Vince was a new drill. I was pretty nervous to buy the wrong thing, so I had asked him several different times which one he wanted. So I don't think it was much of a surprise.

On the other hand, Vince surprised me. He had my big gift wrapped in a coffee box. When I opened it, it was to find tickets to the Phantom of the Opera in July. I was beyond excited!! I can't wait for July to get here.

The aftermath of all the gift opening.

My Christmas gifts. Vince spoiled e well.

I had to get a close up of the pretty jewelry Vince picked out for me. I LOVE it.

Vince's mostly orange and blue Denver Bronco's Christmas. I think everything but the game and the drills were Bronco's stuff.

Christmas Tree 2018

Last year, I bought an artificial, prelit tree. I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not, but I've actually enjoyed it. The day after Thanksgiving, I dug it out and decorated it.

A few nights later, I came home to the find a present underneath it.

The next weekend, I was informed flowers on a tree are not very Christmasy and we decided to redecorate it. The prelit lights have several settings in white and color. The first change we made was I started using the colored lights setting. Then we added garland and a pack of red, green and gold Christmas balls.

By far, the best part was having someone to decorate the tree with. The tree was always just my thing, but I loved sharing something I love so much with someone I love.

I did add a few of the flowers back to fill in some of the gaps. Next year, we'll buy a few more decorations and maybe not need the flowers, or at least not as many.

Some nights I still use the white lights.

I must admit, Vince was right. It is far more Christmasy now and I love it.

The cats love it too. Percy doesn't get under the tree as much (or at least he doesn't get caught under there), but Gaby is usually down there and Blue is pretty much always under the tree. He loves it. We tried squirting them when they got in the tree, but it didn't seem to affect him.
