Thanksgiving Point - Curiosity Muesem

Before we went to the Ropes Course, we had a few minutes to explore. I thought this thing was pretty cool, I even climbed my way to the top.

The family, minus John because he had to work.

At one point, I got bored, so I wondered outside to look around. I found a walking trail with a small pond in the center.

Inside the museum, they have an area you can explore, climb and a ton of other stuff. My mom, Kira and I worked our way to the top. I thought the swinging bridges were pretty cool.

Daxsen did NOT want to smile for a picture. I took it anyways.

Another cool part was this net tower. The bottom half, you could climb your way up, but I did not have the upper body strength for that. Instead, I went to the top and fell down to the middle.

Literally, I fell.

One of the things about being single is I don't have anyone to take my picture. Since I love pictures, I take a lot of pictures. I love that my mom got a picture of me taking a selfie.

This was just after I had fallen down the net and the selfie my mom caught me taking. I got a lot of funny looks this weekend when taking selfies. But I decided I don't care. I want picture of me having fun and living life and if I have to take them myself, then I will.

I had to get a picture of how Valex was eating his chips. He stacked them and then ate them like a sandwich.

It was hard to break out of my shell. Pre-divorce, the ex would've hated this kind of thing, which in turn would have made me miserable. So its just further proof that my life has improved since he walked out. I loved that I was free to fully enjoy spending time with my family and doing things I normally wouldn't have done before.

Thanksgiving Point - Ropes Course

For Christmas, my mom announced that she was planning a family trip as our present. The time finally arrived and we had the trip this last weekend. It was 2 packed days of fun, with a ton of pictures, so I'm going to break it up into a few posts.

Friday morning, my sister in-law, Kira, and I drove out together. John had just started a new job and couldn't get the day off., but he was able to join us late Friday night and all day Saturday. I'm glad Kira was able to ride out with me and we could spend some time together.

Our first stop was Thanksgiving Point. After the long drive, I needed to use the restroom. As I was headed that direction, I heard my mom ask if I was going to do the ropes course, and then I heard Alden respond, "of course she is." I had no idea what I had just agreed to.

We had about an hour until our scheduled time, so we explored the museum a little bit. Then at 11:30, we met at the assigned door. When they marched upstairs and I saw the harnesses, I wondered if this was something I really wanted to do. But there was no backing out. My mom stayed out, to watch the nephews and was able to take pictures. I'm so glad she did so I could have proof of what I did.

There was myself, Vanessa, Kira, Alden, Charlotte and then a few other older kids in our group.  Honestly, I was terrified. After a few obstacles, I was ready to head back to the main area and quit. But watching those younger kids made me realize I had nothing to fear. After that, I did better. I think I ended up doing each obstacle at least twice, some three times.

The tight rope were my least favorite.

The beam looked scary and I wasn't going to do it, but in the end, it ended up being my favorite part. I did have to hold onto my harness, but I was able to breeze across by my third time.

I take that back. The double tight rope was my least favorite! But I did make my way across it.

I'm glad my brother didn't give me a chance to say no. The rope course ended up being a lot of fun and it was just what I needed to start the weekend of fun.

Administrative Professional's Day

Each year, my employer does a small gift for Administrative Professional's Day. This year, they gifted us each a beautiful basket with a plant. I love my job, but its the small things like this that make me enjoy it even more.

Sure hope I can keep the plant alive half as well as I do my job. Because seriously, I did not inherit my dad's green thumb. But I have managed to keep this fern alive for over a year now, so maybe I can handle one more plant.
